Local Authority Services

Local authority services for Queensferry, Pentre and Sandycroft are provided by Flintshire County Council and Queensferry Community Council.

The services provided by the County Council include Education, Highways, Housing, Environmental Health, Social Services, Libraries, Recreation and Leisure etc.

Queensferry Community Council

has a number of broad ranging responsibilities and powers which, dependent on finance and other resources, enable the development and improvement of facilities and services to residents and visitors to the community;
works in partnership with a number of other organisations, community groups and the community to try to ensure the best for Queensferry, Pentre and Sandycroft’s residents and the maintenance of services;
works on behalf of local people to request that Flintshire County Council and other statutory bodies meet their duties and responsibilities in a way which satisfies the needs of Sealand residents;
considers and responds to planning applications;
considers and responds to a number of consultations by statutory bodies on a national and local level and always considers how decisions affect people in the area;
Although the Community Council has limited statutory functions at present it provides much appreciated services to Queensferry, Pentre and Sandycroft including:

Street Lighting.
Match funding for play area equipment
Summer playschemes
Grants to local organisations
It is also affiliated to the following organisations:

One Voice Wales
Society of Local Council Clerks
Twelev councillors have been elected on to Queensferry Community Council. A Chair and Vice Chair are elected at the May annual meeting. 

Meetings are held at Sandycroft Community Centre, Phoenix Street, Sandycroft.

The public is welcome to attend council meetings, except when confidential business is being discussed.
