QUEENSFERRY COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Minutes of the Ordinary Meeting of Council held
7pm 8 FEBRUARY 2022
at Sandycroft Community Centre,
PRESENT: Cllrs Mrs P Connah,(Chair) Mrs. C. Jones (Vice-chair) R. Connah, Mrs D. Milner,
Mrs K. Perry, Mrs. S. Salisbury, T. Williams, D. Wisinger and the Clerk.
IN ATTENDANCE: John Griffiths (Street-Scene) 3 Sandycroft residents (Prospective co-opted
new members of council)

2) MINUTES OF MEETING HELD 18 JANUARY 2021:
pre circulated to Council members in draft form. Minutes read out and approved.

3) DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST Nil
4) ISSUES ARISING FROM THE MINUTES;
Street-Scene items:
Yellow painted lines -awaiting quotation.
Fairfield Road -one way traffic system -enquiries continuing.
Road Dips – various locations – work in hand.
Manhole by garage in Chester Road, Sandycroft /work completed.
Rubbish problem by subway/Queensferry, now removed. Although litter being blown from food
factory into Church View, Pentre and rubbish/rubble in Queens Avenue, Sandycroft.
Blown down metal fence surrounding the waste land in Station Road, Sandycroft -in hand.
Dumped caravan on the grass verge by the public house in Sandycroft – now removed.
Other items:
Pentre notice board -appearance now improved, due to notices being laminated..
Street planter for Sandycroft – work in hand.
Mobile post office for Sandycroft – expected to commence early March.
Co-opted Vacancies for Council
Three Sandycroft residents had applied by letter after seeing the displayed notice of co-option for
Sandycroft Ward. Each applicant singly were invited to read out their letters and then retired from
council chamber to give time for council to consider. Council decided to appoint applicant Mr.
Mathew Hughes, who duly with the Clerk signed the required documentation.
As there were two vacancies for Queensferry Ward, the Clerk would seek clarification from the
Authority, bearing in mind the six month rule regarding the forthcoming election.

6) e MAILS & CORRESPONDENCE:
Relevant emails pre-circulated
Letters received from three members of Sandycroft regarding casual vacancy.
Two cards of thanks received one from Sandycroft Arts & Craft Group and one from Willow Brook
Residents Association for the recent donation made to these groups from council.
7) PLANNING APPLICATIONS:
Proposal: Erection of small industrial unit and associated parking.
Location: Land lying on the south side if Factory road, Sandycroft. CH5 2QJ Decision Approved.
Proposal: Proposed external staircase with new access.
Location: 51a -53a Station Road, Queensferry, CH5 1SU – Decision Approved.
Proposal: First floor extension to side of dwelling & erection of detached domestic garage store
Location: 22Wood Street, Sandycroft, Flints. Letter of comments &viewing information.
8)) REPORTS FROM Cclr D WISINGER:
Enquiries made regarding the burning of rubbish/waste at land adj. to Leona’s Cottage, Station
Road, Sandycroft. Cllr. Wisinger had inspected the area location.
No further issues reported
9) ISSUES AFFECTING THE WARDS:
Litter Picking Hub and Council Walkabout – date to be arranged.
Jubilee Celebration – Council agreed that the two schools should each be presented with a Rowan
Tree, to mark the event and also in line with their school project. Cllr. Mrs P. Connah would make
enquires regarding these trees
The new landlord of the Sandycroft public house would be invited to the next council meeting, a
barbecue had been suggested for the event and an offer of food from a local supermarket chain had
been made.
